Scott Lewis
Executive Director
Mr. Lewis currently serves as the Executive Director of Bethany Community School, overseeing high-level operations while remaining actively engaged in the high school, where he previously served as Principal. Before that, he was the Assistant Head of School for Academics and Student Affairs since 2022. With extensive experience in teaching, coaching, and school leadership as both an assistant principal and principal, Mr. Lewis is committed to fostering a strong academic environment and a supportive school community. His leadership ensures alignment between curriculum and student success, reinforcing Bethany’s mission through collaboration with staff, students, and parents.

Kristen Nuckles
Middle School Principal
Mrs. Kristin Nuckles is the Middle School Principal at Bethany Community School. She holds a Master of School Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education from UNC Greensboro. As a participant in the highly competitive Principal Preparation for Excellence and Equity in Rural Schools (PPEERS), part of the nationally recognized North Carolina Principal Fellows Program, Mrs. Nuckles gained extensive training in equity-driven leadership with a focus on serving rural communities. Looking ahead, Mrs. Nuckles is committed to fostering a supportive and engaging middle school environment at Bethany that challenges students academically while helping them grow as confident, compassionate learners.

Shawuan Coles-Wilson
High School Principal
Mrs. Coles-Wilson serves as High School Principal at Bethany Community School, bringing over 20 years of educational experience. Before Bethany, she spent 11 years at Walkertown Middle School, most recently as Dean of Students. Her background includes coaching multiple sports, advising FBLA and SGA, and leading Positive Behavior Reinforcement programs, highlighting her dedication to school engagement. She supports student success by fostering a collaborative environment that inspires growth and achievement. Passionate about education, Mrs. Coles-Wilson values the unique opportunity of a community school to unite individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Shaun Trepal
Director of Academics and Student Affairs
Mr. Shaun Trepal serves as the Director of Academics and Student Affairs for grades 6–12 at Bethany Community School. With twenty years of experience in education and a strong background in school leadership across both middle and high school settings, he is dedicated to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. At Bethany, Mr. Trepal’s work emphasizes behavior, student performance, academics, and enriching student learning inside and outside the classroom. He holds a Master’s in Executive Leadership from Gardner-Webb University and a degree in Integrated Social Studies Education from Ohio University.
